Why Season Decides the Design

The single biggest factor in what your wedding flowers cost, and how they look, is what is growing when you marry.

An in-season flower is at its best, at its cheapest, and available in quantity. The same flower out of season is flown in, costs several times more, and often arrives tired. Designing with the calendar rather than against it is how a modest budget produces a room that looks expensive.

We will always tell you what is at its peak on your date before we tell you what is possible.

What Is at Its Best, and When

Spring — tulips, ranunculus, lilac, and the beginning of peony season. The softest palettes of the year, and the best value in the calendar.

Early summer — peonies at their height, garden roses, sweet peas. Peonies have a short and much-requested window, so ask early if your heart is set on them.

Late summer — dahlias, hydrangea, lisianthus. Fuller, more saturated colour, and strong in the heat.

Autumn — dahlias continuing, chrysanthemum, textured foliage and seed heads. The richest palette, and increasingly popular for smaller weddings.

Winter — roses, orchids, amaryllis, evergreen and berry. Fewer options, but a formal, structural look that photographs beautifully indoors.

Roses, orchids and carnations are dependable year-round, which is why they anchor so many designs regardless of month.

How Long Fresh Flowers Hold

We condition and arrange as close to the day as practical, deliver on the morning, and install on site.
